In effect as of September 28, 2026
This policy explains how the InfoXtreme inc. website uses cookies, which cookies are placed on your device, why, and how you can refuse or withdraw your consent. It supplements our Privacy policy and our Terms of use.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser. It allows the site to remember information from one page to the next or from one visit to the next: your language, the contents of your cart, or the fact that you have already answered the consent window.
A cookie cannot read the files on your device, install software or identify you by name. It can, however, be used to recognize the same browser from one visit to the next, which makes it personal information within the meaning of Quebec law when it is combined with other data.
2. The cookies we use
The list below was established by observing the site, not from a generic template. It is revised when we change a tool.
2.1 Necessary cookies
They are essential to the operation of the site and cannot be refused, because without them the site does not work properly.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_cookie |
info-xtreme.com | Keeps your answer to the consent window, so that you are not asked again on every page. | 6 months |
wordpress_logged_in_*, wp-settings-* |
info-xtreme.com | Only for people who log in to administer the site. An ordinary visitor never receives them. | Session to 1 year |
woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_* |
info-xtreme.com | Keep the contents of your cart and your shopping session. Set only if you use the store. | Session to 2 days |
2.2 Audience measurement cookies
They tell us how many people visit the site and which pages are viewed. They are set only after you accept them in the consent window.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics | Distinguish visitors and measure traffic. | 2 years |
3. Your consent
On your first visit, a window asks you to accept or refuse the cookies that are not necessary. Audience measurement cookies are set only if you accept. Refusing does not prevent you from using the site.
Your answer is kept in a cookie so that the window does not reappear on every page. If you clear your browser’s cookies, you will be asked again.
4. How to change your mind
You can change your choice at any time through the Manage preferences link in the consent window, or by clearing the site’s cookies in your browser, which will make the window reappear.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Your browser also lets you block or clear cookies, site by site or globally. The setting is usually found under “Privacy and security”. Blocking all cookies may prevent some features from working, including the store’s cart.
6. Retention period
Each cookie has its own duration, shown in the tables above. A session cookie disappears when the browser is closed. The others expire on their own at the stated time, or sooner if you clear them.
7. Personal information and Law 25
Information collected through cookies is processed in accordance with our Privacy policy and the Quebec Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25.
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and its correction, and to file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
The person in charge of the protection of personal information at InfoXtreme inc. is Yannick Dugas. You can reach this person using the contact information below.
8. Changes to this policy
InfoXtreme may amend this policy, in particular when we change a tool on the site. Any amendment is published on this page, with a new effective date. We invite you to consult it from time to time.
In the event of any difference in meaning or interpretation between this policy and any translation, the French version prevails.
