1. INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the InfoXtreme inc. website located at www.infoxtreme.com (the “website”). InfoXtreme Inc. takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. As such, we have put measures in place to ensure that all personal information we collect about you is protected by a set of robust business procedures and rigorous security measures. These measures ensure that your information remains confidential and is used only for the purposes described in this policy, unless otherwise permitted by law.
We are committed to being transparent about our personal information handling practices. Accordingly, this privacy policy establishes responsible and transparent practices for the management of personal information and complies with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, as well as the similar provincial laws of Alberta, British Columbia and Québec.
2. APPLICATION AND SCOPE
This privacy policy applies to the personal information we collect when you interact with InfoXtreme inc. through the website or by other means.
This policy generally applies to all personal information (as defined below in the “Definition of personal information” section of this policy) collected about you by InfoXtreme inc. or anyone acting as an agent or on our behalf, through the website or any other interaction you may have with us (for example, if you contact us by phone or email). Whenever you do business with InfoXtreme inc. or interact with us in any way, you are protected by the rights and safeguards set out in this privacy policy, and you expressly accept its terms.
3. DEFINITION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
“Personal information” is defined broadly and includes any information about an identifiable individual as well as any technical information collected automatically. Aggregated or anonymous information is not considered personal information.
For the purposes of this privacy policy, “personal information” means any information about an identifiable individual. This may include, for example, your name, contact details, email address or information about the account you have created with us. It may also include other types of technical information, such as the IP address of website visitors or browsing history on our website, but only where such information can identify you personally. Aggregated information that cannot be linked to an identifiable individual is not considered personal information.
4. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
As a general rule, we collect personal information directly from you, for example when you register or create an account on our website. We may also collect information automatically through our website, although this information does not necessarily identify you as an individual.
Information you provide directly:
When you interact with us, in most cases we collect personal information directly from you, including:
- Your contact details, such as name, email address, mailing address, telephone number and mobile number when you place an order on our website, create an account, subscribe to our newsletter, ask a question or contact us through our website or otherwise (for example, by phone or email);
- Any personal information contained in a document you provide to us.
Information collected automatically:
- When you visit our website, we may automatically collect information that does not necessarily identify you as an individual. For example, we may collect the following types of information:
- Browser, device and technical information. When you visit our website, we may collect technical information by electronic means such as cookies. This may include information about your visit or use, including the IP address of your device or computer (i.e. the number automatically assigned to your device or computer when you access the Internet, which can sometimes be used to determine your general geographic location) and the browser used to access our website, your operating system, your screen resolution, your location, browser language settings, the site you were previously browsing, search keywords (if you used a search engine), the number of pages viewed, as well as the information you entered and the advertisements you viewed. You can block the use of cookies by enabling the appropriate settings in your browser. In most browsers, the help function will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have your browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable all cookies. If you choose to refuse cookies or block them later, you may not be able to access the content of our website or parts of it. In addition, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons by changing the add-on’s settings or visiting the manufacturer’s website.
- Google Analytics.
We use Google Analytics, which allows us to obtain information about users’ online activities, including pages viewed, source and time spent on our website. This information is de-identified and displayed as figures, which means that it cannot be traced back to individuals. You can opt out of Google Analytics by visiting the Google Analytics opt-out page.
Ad retargeting. We use services such as Google AdWords remarketing to promote InfoXtreme Inc. on the web and on third-party websites (including Google) to previous visitors of our site. AdWords remarketing will show you ads based on the parts of the website you visited by placing a cookie in your web browser. Our ads may therefore be shown to previous visitors who did not complete a task on our website, on the Google search results page or on a site in the Google Display Network. This cookie does not identify you and does not give access to your computer or mobile device. The cookie is only used to tell other websites that you visited a particular page on our website, so that you can see ads related to that page. If you do not wish to take part in Google AdWords remarketing, you can opt out by visiting the Google Ad Manager preferences page.
5. USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may use your personal information to provide our services, for our own internal purposes and for marketing and advertising purposes, although the latter is subject to your right to withdraw your consent as provided in this policy. We may also anonymize or aggregate personal information so that it no longer identifies individuals, and use it for any lawful purpose.

We may also disclose information to our accountants, auditors, agents and lawyers in connection with the enforcement or protection of our legal rights. We also reserve the right to report any activity that we believe in good faith to be unlawful to law enforcement or the police in an emergency, or where permitted or required by law. We may disclose certain personal information if we have reasonable grounds to believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, property, safety and that of others, in accordance with the law or where permitted by law.
